디즈니가 개발 했다는 DragonChain ICO 성공적으로 종료

한달전쯤 디즈니에서 블록체인을 하고, 그들이 ICO를 한다는 소식을 듣고 이건 뭘까 하는 호기심에 뉴스를 살펴 보았습니다. 그리고, 공식사이트도 보았죠. 그런데, 디즈니사와 관련이 있다는 말은 뉴스에서만 있고, 다른 곳에서는 공식적으로 표현되어 있지 않았습니다. 유일하게 본것은 Github에 있는 드레곤체인 페이지에 적혀 있는 이 내용 뿐 이었습니다. "Dragonchain™ was developed in 2016 at Disney in Seattle by a small but very cool team of Blockchain technology advocates."

아무래도 디즈니와의 연관성이 투자자에게 신뢰의 문제로 연결되기에 무수한 질문을 받았던것 같습니다. 디즈니사의 공식 오픈소스사이트에 등록되어 있는 링크가 있더군요. https://disney.github.io/

아무튼, 디즈니와 프로젝트를 한 것 까지는 맞는것 같습니다.

What is the relationship or association between Disney and Dragonchain?

Dragonchain was originally developed at Disney’s Seattle office in 2015 and 2016 as the Disney Private Blockchain Platform. Over 20 use cases and applications were explored and documented publicly via the W3C Blockchain Community Group. The platform was later released as open source software under the Apache 2 license in October of 2016.

The Dragonchain Foundation, a Non-Profit Corporation was created in January of 2017 to maintain ownership and responsibility of the open source code.

The Dragonchain team is now in the process of launching a commercial entity to build a serverless architecture blockchain platform. The combination of serverless and blockchain technologies is unique and tremendously valuable. The timing of the Dragonchain platform launch is highly strategic to benefit from explosive growth of cloud computing over the last few years and the emerging wave of Blockchain solutions entering proof of concept stage across enterprises.

하지만, 디즈니가 투자를 한다거나 하는 내용은 없었죠. 디즈니 이름으로 프로젝트를 진행한 레퍼런스 정도가 될 것 같습니다. 

더욱이 우리나라는 ICO를 진행하던, 개인이 ICO를 참여하던 불법으로 보겠다는 금융통화위원회의 발언 이후에 ICO에 대한 소식을 전하는 것이 문제가 될 가능성이 있어서, 종료된 소식을 전하면서 드레곤체인에 대해 간략하게 언급하려고 합니다.

위 그림은 드래곤체인의 ICO를 성공적으로 종료한것에 대한 기념 이미지 라고 하면 될 것 같습니다. ICO 참여 금액이 이더리움으로 30,521.85개, 비트코인으로 622.51개로 달러로 1377만 달러가 넘는 금액 입니다. 우리돈으로 150억원 가량되는 큰 금액 입니다. 

그럼 드래곤체인은 어떤 코인일까요? 글쎄요 토큰을 발행하기는 하지만, 서비스에 가까운것 같습니다. 드레곤체인은 개발자들이 플록체인 어플리케이션을 개발하는것을 도와 주는 서비스를 한다는 것 입니다. 무언가 틀을 바꾸는 코인이 아닌, 서비스를 제공하는 코인이라면, 그렇게 매력적으로 느껴지지는 않습니다. 이런게 있구나 정도 참고만 하시면 될 것 같습니다.

공식 트위터에도 이 프로젝트가 디즈니사의 의견이 반영되어 있지 않다고 적어 놓았습니다. 그럼에도 ICO를 성공적으로 마무리 한건 대단한 것 같습니다.
